Bring Senior Citizens together in one strong, non-racial, non-sectarian organization that will work for the welfare of all Senior Citizens in Southey and are in the full recognition that the political, religious and ideological beliefs of individual members is their own concern.
To provide programs and services to promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of adults 50 years and older, to make a positive difference in their lives in our diverse community.
At its March 2020 meeting the SSCC Board did its annual review of the current SSCC work plan in the light of our Mission Statement.
This identified interrelated strategic areas– Creating a Culture of Inclusion, Age-Friendly Communities, Ageism, addressing issues of importance to older adults, and Older Adult Abuse and Neglect, Inclusion during COVID-19 through electronic means.
We will maintain good governance and accountability by:
∙ holding an AGM each year to present reports for accountability, demonstrate good stewardship of our resources, elect Board Members, deal with resolutions, present By-law changes and present an audited/reviewed financial statement.
